This privacy policy describes how the app "Nauka czytania sylabami" (Reading by Syllables, referred to below as "the App") collects, uses and protects users' personal data. The App is intended for children aged 4 to 8 using it under the supervision of parents or carers.
1. Data controller
The joint data controllers, with an equal share in the project, are:

In line with Article 26 of the GDPR, we inform you that we carry out our data protection duties jointly: whichever of us receives a request first answers it, and we handle breach reports together. You can send a request to either of the addresses above.
2. What data we collect

3. Protecting children
The App is intended for children aged 4 to 8 and we treat the protection of their privacy as a priority:
- Accounts are created by parents or legal guardians
- We collect no data from children beyond what is needed to use the educational content
- We show no ads
- We do not share children's data with third parties for marketing purposes
- We use no tracking or user profiling
- A parent or carer can delete the child's account at any time
We act in accordance with the principles of children's privacy protection, including the COPPA guidelines (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and the GDPR (Article 8).
4. External services
The App uses the following external services:

5. Payments and subscriptions
- Payments are processed by Google Play Billing through RevenueCat
- We do not store credit card or bank details
- Subscriptions can be managed in the Google Play settings
- One-off purchases are permanent (lifetime access)
- After cancelling a subscription the user keeps access to content bought individually
6. Data storage and security
- Data is stored on Supabase servers (AWS infrastructure, EU region)
- Passwords are encrypted; we never store them in plain form
- Communication with the server uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS)
- Access to data is controlled by a system of roles and permissions (Row Level Security)
7. Your rights
Every user has the right to:
- Access: to view their data (visible in the profile)
- Rectification: to correct their data
- Erasure: to permanently delete the account and all related data (available in the App: Profile → Delete account)
- Portability: to obtain a copy of their data
- Objection: to object to the processing of their data

8. Data retention period
- Account data is kept until the user deletes the account
- After the account is deleted, the data is permanently erased within 30 days
- Payment transaction data is kept as required by law (up to 5 years)
9. Cookies and local data
The App does not use cookies to track users. Preference data (syllable colours, font size, chosen language) is stored locally on the user's device using the SharedPreferences mechanism.
10. Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. We will inform users of significant changes through a notice in the App. The current version is always available at this address.

Terms of use of the Reading by Syllables app

1. General provisions
- These Terms set out the rules for using the app "Nauka czytania sylabami" (Reading by Syllables, referred to below as "the App").
- The owner and operator of the App is Sebastian Rosiński ("the Operator").
- The App is an educational tool that helps children learn to read by visually dividing text into syllables.
- Using the App means accepting these Terms.
2. Registration and account
- Using the App requires creating an account with an email address, a Google account or a Facebook account.
- Accounts for children under 16 should be created by parents or legal guardians.
- The user is responsible for keeping their sign-in details confidential.
- Guest sign-in with limited functionality is also available.
- The user can delete their account from within the App at any time.
3. Account types and permissions

4. Payments and subscriptions
- The App offers free and paid content.
- Access to paid content can be obtained through:
- A Premium subscription (monthly or yearly)
- A one-off purchase (a single publication or category)
- An invitation code (issued by the administrator)
- Payments are processed by Google Play Billing. The Operator does not store payment details.
- The subscription renews automatically. It can be cancelled in the Google Play settings.
- One-off purchases are permanent; access does not expire.
- Refunds are subject to the Google Play Store rules.
5. User content
- Authors may create and publish educational content in the App.
- The author retains copyright in their content.
- By publishing content, the author grants the Operator a non-exclusive licence to display it in the App.
- Publishing content that infringes third-party rights, is illegal or is unsuitable for children is prohibited.
- The Operator reserves the right to remove content that breaches these Terms.
6. Content from Wolne Lektury
Some of the content in the App comes from Wolne Lektury, a Polish free-literature library, and is made available under a Creative Commons licence (CC BY-SA 4.0). Information about the source and licence is included in the description of each such publication.
7. Rules of use
The user undertakes to:
- Use the App in line with its educational purpose
- Not attempt to bypass security measures or the access system
- Not share invitation codes with unauthorised persons
- Not use the App in a way that could disrupt its operation
8. Liability
- The Operator makes every effort to keep the App working correctly but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- The Operator is not liable for consequences arising from false information provided by the user.
- The educational content does not replace professional pedagogical or speech-therapy support.
9. Changes to these Terms
The Operator reserves the right to change these Terms. Users will be informed of significant changes in the App. Continued use of the App after changes are introduced means accepting them.

Deleting your account in the Reading by Syllables app
Every registered user can permanently delete their account and all related data at any time.
How to delete your account
- Open the Nauka czytania sylabami app
- Sign in to your account
- Go to the Profile screen (the person icon on the bottom bar)
- Scroll down to the "Danger zone" section
- Tap the "Delete account" button
- Confirm the deletion by typing the word USUŃ (the Polish word for "delete")
- Tap "Confirm deletion"
What data will be deleted

Important information
- Deleting the account is irreversible; neither the account nor the data can be restored
- One-off (permanent) purchases will be lost
- If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled automatically
- Data stored locally on the device (preferences) must be removed manually by uninstalling the app
